Glossary Term: Volume Notification Agent

A Volume Notification Agent relates to an Energy Contract Volume Notification Agent and/or a Metered Volume Reallocation Notification Agent.

Parties are required to notify the BSC systems of their contract positions to enable Energy Imbalance Volumes to be calculated. This is done by submitting notifications to the Energy Contract Volume Aggregation Agent (ECVAA). Notifications are submitted in relation to the relevant Party’s Production and/or Consumption Energy Accounts.

There are two types of notification:

  • Energy Contract Volume Notifications (ECVNs)
  • Metered Volume Reallocation Notifications (MVRNs)

An Energy Contract Volume Notification Agent means a person authorised under Section P and in accordance with Section J as Party Agent by a Contract Trading Party to submit Energy Contract Volume Notifications on its behalf.

A Metered Volume Reallocation Notification Agent means a person authorised in accordance with Section P as Party Agent by a Contract Trading Party to submit Metered Volume Reallocation Notifications on its behalf.
