There are circumstances in which some companies may be able to get a level of exemption from the Performance Assurance process.
Metering dispensations
If you’re the Registrant of a Metering System, you can apply for a Metering Dispensation if (for financial or practical reasons) the associated Metering Equipment will or does not comply with the applicable Code of Practice.
Transfer of BM Units ownership
A BM Unit transfer could result in temporary or partial exemption from the BSC performance assurance process in certain circumstances.
Exemption for testing innovation
Any BSC Party or non-party with an innovative idea can ask for permission to temporarily not follow a specific BSC rule, so they can test their idea and possibly help improve that process in the future.
In this situation, you would use the BSC Sandbox to apply for a temporary exemption (derogation).
