IT Notices: National Grid ESO MODIS Outage on Saturday 25 February 2023
What is happening?
National Grid ESO (NGESO) has informed us that there will be a planned maintenance outage on the Market Operation Data Interface System (MODIS) application between 01:00 and 05:00 (GMT) on 25 February.
How will I be impacted?
MODIS sends Loss of Load Probability (LoLP), De-rated Margin (DRM), REMIT and European Transparency Regulation (ETR) data from National Grid to the Balancing Mechanism Reporting Service (BMRS) and this will all be affected during this outage.
Processing of all Market Participants (ETR & REMIT) reports submitted to MODIS will be delayed until the end of the outage and hence files will not be published to BMRS during the outage.
Backlog data received and routine reporting for each maintenance window will be processed as soon as possible to catch up after each outage.
Participants that submit REMIT data via the Elexon Portal will not be impacted and the NGESO Balancing Mechanism (BM) will also be unaffected by this outage.
A post health check will be performed after the planned activity and MODIS will be monitored. Any files and reports will be reprocessed if required.
Do I need to take any further action?
No, however any BSC Parties having questions for National Grid regarding this planned outage should phone 0800 917 7111 or 0800 085 4806.
Overseas callers should use +44 800 917 7111 and quote “NETA EDT”.
