This page explains the steps you may need to go through for your organisation to get set up to use the Data Integration Platform (DIP).
It follows a simple three step plan: setting up your account details, testing, and getting access to the live system ( referred to as the ‘production DIP’).
The steps will vary slightly depending on your circumstances. Please refer to the onboarding routes below that apply to you.

Onboarding routes:
Market Participants
Market Participants (MP) are classified as either active or non-active. Active MPs are connecting to the DIP with their own technology and will require one dual purpose Digital Certificate per environment. A non-active MP will be utilising the service(s) of a single or multiple DIP Connection Provider(s) (DCP) to connect to the DIP and will require one single purpose signing Digital Certificate per environment.
MHHS-qualified parties in User Integration Testing (UIT)
When MHHS-qualified parties are promoted into the Production DIP, organisation details — including Company Number, Company Name, MPIDs, and DIP IDs — are copied from the UIT environment.
For these parties, no further action is required to complete onboarding.
Parties in System Integration Testing (SIT) or ‘Placing Full Reliance’
For parties that qualify via the SIT or Placing Full Reliance routes, you must complete the steps in this guidance:
DIP Connection Provider (DCP)
A DCP is a non-MHHS qualified role that supports MPs in connecting to the DIP. They are required to sign an Access Agreement to get onboard into the DIP.
For multiple companies
Organisations qualifying with multiple companies should follow the GlobalSign platform guidance to manage onboarding effectively.

Meter Data Retriever Role (MDR)
The MDR role falls outside the main centralised BSCCo/RECCo qualification and so must onboard the DIP via its own specific route. See this guidance for an explanation of onboarding for the MDR role and extending MDR functionality:
