Our strategy
Our strategy has five core themes:
Transitioning to half-hourly settlement
Elexon is leading the Market-wide Half Hourly Settlement (MHHS) Programme as the Implementation Manager. We are working with more than 250 organisations across the sector to deliver this key reform.
We are progressing dual-running of Settlement and delivering migration to plan, ensuring qualification and service activation remain on track. We are preparing to complete the migration of all meters in May 2027, and a successful cutover to the a new, shorter settlement timetable in July 2027.
Developing flexibility markets
In our role as the market facilitator, we are delivering the first year of Flexibility Market Rukes, supporting flexibility asset registration, and establishing enduring governance for Smart Secure Electricity Systems (SSES).
Delivering growth and future market reforms
We are preparing for major market changes and reforms, including Reformed National Pricing, the continued digitalisation of the energy sector, and the growth of flexibility markets with the Flexibility Digital Infrastructure.
Enhancing data services and systems
We are embedding and scaling our Data Integration Platform, delivering the Smart Data Repository, and strengthening our capabilities in cyber security, data science, and data governance.
Transforming our customer experience
We are unifying our digital ecosystem, placing customer feedback and value at the centre of our decisions, and significantly improving the quality, speed, and consistency of our services.
Becoming a licensed code manager
We are working towards becoming a licensed organisation at the end of 2026, evolving our governance arrangements and strengthening our independence as we transition our culture and ways of working.
