href=\"https:\/\/www.elexon.co.uk\/what-we-do\/about-our-services\/data-integration-platform-dip\/dip-training-and-guidance\/understanding-dip-user-roles-and-tasks\/\">understand DIP user roles and tasks<\/a><\/li>\n<li>names and contact details of people you want to add as users<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How many users do we need?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">It is advised that each Market Participant has at least 2 User Admin<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, 2 Certificate Admin<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and 2 Message Admin<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s to ensure cover is provided during\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">any\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">absence.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">It is\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">acceptable for one person to hold multiple roles.\u202fPlease ensure you have cover for all potential access needs.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\t<section class=\"section\">\n\t\t<div class=\"centering small\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"section-title\">Setting up new users (for User Admins only) <div class=\"small-decoration\"><\/div><\/h2>\n\t\t\t  \n\t\t\t<div class=\"section-text\">\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<p><strong>This activity can only be done by a User Admin.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Certificate Admin and a Message Admin will need to be created before any other users are added to the system. If these are already set up, you can proceed to creating additional users.<\/p>\n<h3>To add a user<\/h3>\n<p>Go to the Members tab in the Market Participation Organisation screen.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/assets.elexon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/29132422\/DIP-members-navigation-tab.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9606\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.elexon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/29132422\/DIP-members-navigation-tab-300x128.jpg\" alt=\"Location of Members tab within the Market Participant Organisation area\" width=\"802\" height=\"342\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Create a Certificate Admin<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Click on Create Member<\/li>\n<li>Enter the user\u2019s first name, last name, and their email address<\/li>\n<li>Under \u2018Select Organisation Role\u2019, choose Certificate Admin and any other role(s) needed<\/li>\n<li>Click on Confirm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Create a Message Admin<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Click on Create Member<\/li>\n<li>Enter the user\u2019s first name, last name, and their email address<\/li>\n<li>Under \u2018Select Organisational Role\u2019, choose Message Admin and any other roles(s) needed.<\/li>\n<li>You can limit the scope of the DIP ids the Message Admin has access to.<\/li>\n<li>Click on Confirm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Creating additional users<\/h4>\n<p>Once you have created a Certificate Admin and a Message Admin, you can add any other users required. The method is the same as above.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click on Create Member<\/li>\n<li>Enter the user\u2019s first name, last name, and their email address<\/li>\n<li>Choose the relevant role(s) under \u2018Select Organisational role\u2019 and confirm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/assets.elexon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/29135805\/DIP-members-create-user-access.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9615\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.elexon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/29135805\/DIP-members-create-user-access-300x238.jpg\" alt=\"Screen should fields associated to creating a new user profile\" width=\"605\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Inviting users from outside your organisation<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>As a security measure, the User Admin can\u00a0<strong>only add individuals from approved email domains<\/strong>. This refers to part of a company email address after the @ sign.<\/p>\n<p>You can see a list of the approved domains in the Market Participant Organisation section under \u2018Whitelisted domains\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>If you need to give access to an individual from a company whose domain is not shown, please create a ticket on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/support.elexon.co.uk\/\">Elexon Support<\/a>\u00a0requesting the domain to be added.<\/p>\n<p>Once verifying the desired domain is present, navigate to the Member tab and follow the steps for creating an additional user.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/assets.elexon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/29134351\/DIP-members-edit-screen-external-organisation.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9611\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.elexon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/29134351\/DIP-members-edit-screen-external-organisation-300x198.jpg\" alt=\"Adding an external organisation to the access options\" width=\"826\" height=\"545\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Editing an existing user<\/h3>\n<p>Click on the Edit option next to an existing Members\u2019 role to amend the user details.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/assets.elexon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/29135159\/DIP-members-edit-extisting-user.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9613\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.elexon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/29135159\/DIP-members-edit-extisting-user-300x58.jpg\" alt=\"How to edit an existing user\" width=\"807\" height=\"156\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Extending user accounts<\/h3>\n<p>All users within a organisation have an expiry date. This is under the control of the User Admins within the home organisation.
