Change Consultations
Consultations are used when the DIP Manager needs industry views to decide whether a proposed change should be approved. They ask for feedback on likely impacts and costs, how long it would take to implement, and how the change affects the DIP’s objectives.
Consultations normally run for at least 15 working days, unless the change is very urgent. Where a change also affects other Industry Codes, the DIP Manager will coordinate with other Code Bodies and try to run a single, combined consultation rather than separate ones.

P499 Report Phase Consultation: BSC Changes for GC0166: New Dynamic Parameters for Limited Duration AssetsRead More
P499 seeks to amend the BSC to reflect GC0166 by requiring NESO to send the new MDO and MDB parameters to the Balancing Mechanism Reporting Agent (BMRA) for publication. Doing so will replace the outdated Maximum Delivery Period and Maximum Delivery Volume parameters. These changes will support NESO in optimising dispatch and operational planning, provide clearer information to market participants, and enable more effective integration of storage technologies in balancing the National Electricity Transmission System.
P500 Report Phase Consultation: Enduring Market Facilitator Budget and Funding ArrangementsRead More
This Modification seeks to amend the BSC to embed enduring funding and governance arrangements for the market facilitator directly into Sections C, D and X-1. This approach aligns the Market Facilitator Budget with existing BSC budget-setting cycles and processes, introduces a clear appeals mechanism, and ensures the associated costs are treated consistently with other BSC expenditure. These changes will enable the market facilitator to operate transparently and efficiently, while also providing certainty to industry parties regarding financial oversight and accountability.
