This is leading to anomalies in Distribution Use of System (DUoS) charging for sites such as wind farms, with the Supplier being charged for Reactive Power flows which (in the view of the Parties concerned) would be better charged to the Licence Exempt Generator. As Reactive Energy is not settled under the BSC, it is not clear that there is any requirement for the BSC to be so prescriptive about who takes responsibility for Reactive Power flows. The issue has been raised to investigate options for making Section K less prescriptive.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-group\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\" id=\"history\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Progression<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-panel\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"panel-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Issue 24 Group met on 27 March 2007 and discussed the addition of the following text into Section K of the Code, in order to clarify the concept of Reactive Power under the BSC and thereby modify the Code definitions of Import and Export; &#x2018;In relation to the term &#x201C;electricity&#x201D;, the direction of flow at any instant in time shall be deemed to be consistent with the direction of flow of Active Power at that instant in time. For the avoidance of doubt, at any instant in time when the flow of Active Power is classified as Import the associated flow of Reactive Power will also be deemed to be import flow related, and at any instant in time when the flow of Active Power is classified as Export the associated flow of Reactive Power will be deemed to be export flow related&#x2019;. Issue Group members are discussing with the Issue raiser who would raise a Modification.
