You will also learn about what qualifications are needed, the relevant costs and charges and any other information you may need to know.<\/p>\n\n    <\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"pagebuilder-blocks\"><div class=\"panel-content\">\n    <h2 id=\"what-is-an-asset-metering-virtual-lead-party\">What is an Asset Metering Virtual Lead Party?<\/h2>\n<p>An Asset Metering Virtual Lead Party will allow Metering Equipment situated &#x2018;behind&#x2019; the defined Boundary Point to be used for Settlement purposes in place of the Boundary Point Meter.<\/p>\n<p>Primarily, this will allow balancing-related services on-site from smaller assets to be separated from current imbalance-related activities, more accurately reflecting the balancing-energy volumes provided by the Balancing Service Provider (BSP).<\/p>\n<p>AMVLPs only participate in Settlement by offering balancing energy services, they will not be subject to the same level of charges and obligations as existing BSC Parties.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"the-amvlp-market-entry-process\">The AMVLP Market Entry Process<\/h2>\n<p>This presentation explains the process for entering the energy market as a Asset Metering Virtual Lead Party (AMVLP).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/elexon-beta.elexonhostings.co.uk\/bsc\/documents\/market-entry-exit\/market-entry-process\/amvlp-market-entry-presentation-slide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Asset Metering Virtual Lead Party Market Entry Process Presentation<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"qualifications-needed\">Qualifications needed<\/h2>\n<p>In order to qualify as a AMVLP you will need to obtain the following qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/elexon-beta.elexonhostings.co.uk\/bsc\/reference\/market-entry\/cva-qualification\/\">CVA Qualification<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/elexon-beta.elexonhostings.co.uk\/bsc\/reference\/market-entry\/sva-qualification\/\">SVA Qualification<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Central Volume Allocation (CVA) Qualification is needed to prove that AMVLPs have the ability to send certain communications to BSC Agents and ensure that certain communications are received.<\/p>\n<p>The Supplier Volume Allocation (SVA) is needed to ensure that AMVLPs understand the obligations and activities of the BSC and maintain a certain performance level.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"costs\">Costs<\/h2>\n<p>AMVLPs acceding to the BSC must pay a &#xA3;500 accession fee which covers the administrative costs of entering the market.<\/p>\n<p>Every AMVLP, who is not also a Trading Party, must pay a flat monthly charge of &#xA3;125.<\/p>\n<h3>Credit cover<\/h3>\n<p>Charges are made to Parties (or by them) as a result of any imbalance (Trading Charges) 29 days after a Settlement Day.<\/p>\n<p>Over this period a Parties&#x2019; Credit Cover ensures it has enough collateral to cover these payments in case of default.<\/p>\n<p>We do not specify the amount of Credit Cover you must lodge; it is up to the Party to decide. Parties usually make this decision based on their trading characteristics.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on Credit Cover please see the <a href=\"https:\/\/elexon-beta.elexonhostings.co.uk\/bsc\/settlement\/credit\/\">Credit Cover explained page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Other costs<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Secondary BM Unit Monthly Charge &#x2013; &#xA3;60<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An AMVLP must pay a charge for each Secondary BM Unit for which the Party is Lead Party, for all or any part of that month.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notified Volume Charge &#x2013; &#xA3;0.0005\/MWh<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A charge is also payable against a Party&#x2019;s Gross Contract Volume.<\/p>\n<h3>Participant Test Service charges<\/h3>\n<p>For parties wanting to test\/re-test any flows you can use the PTS service to increase the level of assurance to individual companies, and to the industry as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>The service can be used before competing CVA Qualification testing and operating in the live environment, and to test any impacts as a result of changes to your business software.<\/p>\n<p>The PTS service is booked in half day test slots (9am-1pm\/1-5pm) and is charged at <strong>&#xA3;999+VAT per test slot<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/elexon-beta.elexonhostings.co.uk\/bsc\/knowledgebase\/what-is-the-participant-test-service-pts-and-how-much-does-it-cost\/\">What is the Participant Test Service (PTS) and how much does it cost?<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"steps-needed-to-become-a-asset-metering-virtual-lead-party\">Steps needed to become a Asset Metering Virtual Lead Party<\/h2>\n<p>You will need to go through various steps in order to register as a AMVLP. An AMSID is the identifier for an Asset Metering System. It is the Asset Metering equivalent of an MSID (also called an MPAN) used in the SVA arrangements. An AMSID is a 13-digit number always beginning with &#x2018;77&#x2019;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q. What&#x2019;s an AMSID Pair?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A. An AMSID Pair is an Import AMSID and, where appropriate, an Export AMSID which relate to the same Asset Metering System.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q. How long does the AMVLP Qualification process take?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A. 3-6 months &#x2013; if the Applicant has already Qualified as a Virtual Lead Party (VLP), they will not be required to repeat the VLP Qualification steps during the AMVLP Qualification process<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q. Where can I find the data flows to be tested as part of CVA qualification for the new AMVLP role?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A. If I am already qualified as a VLP do I need to undergo the process for an AMVLP?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A. If there are no material changes to your systems when you qualified as a VLP, then the only additional steps are to register as an AMVLP in MDD, register AMSID Pairs and register within the AMVLP role via Kinnect Customer Solution or BSCP65\/01.<\/p>\n<p>In regards to SVA Qualification, the Generic sections 1-7 in the SAD will need to be filled in and there is a new section 19A (AMVLP) which also needs to be filled in. Please note that some of your answers in the generic sections of the SAD may be the same as when you qualified in the VLP role. If there are no changes since your VLP Qualification, you can copy the same wording over into the relevant sections for your AMVLP application.
