{"id":165873,"date":"2021-03-05T11:25:29","date_gmt":"2021-03-05T11:25:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elexon-beta.elexonhostings.co.uk\/bsc\/?page_id=165873"},"modified":"2024-07-09T14:46:07","modified_gmt":"2024-07-09T13:46:07","slug":"becoming-an-interconnector-administrator-or-interconnector-error-administrator","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/elexon-beta.elexonhostings.co.uk\/bsc\/market-entry\/becoming-an-interconnector-administrator-or-interconnector-error-administrator\/","title":{"rendered":"Becoming an Interconnector Administrator or Interconnector Error Administrator"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 id=\"what-is-an-interconnector-administrator\">What is an Interconnector Administrator?<\/h2>\n<p>The Interconnected System Operator (ISO) can appoint a different Party to be the IA and the IEA.<\/p>\n<h3>Interconnector Administrator<\/h3>\n<p>IAs are responsible for determining and submitting Interconnector BM Unit Metered Volumes on the Interconnector User&#x2019;s behalf into Settlement for each<br>\nSettlement Period.<\/p>\n<h3>Interconnector Error Administrator<\/h3>\n<p>IEAs are allocated any difference between the actual Metered Volume and the aggregate position of all Interconnector User&#x2019;s BM Unit Deemed Metered Volume (deemed to have been delivered) as notified by the IA.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"qualifications-needed\">Qualifications needed<\/h2>\n<p>In order to qualify as an Interconnector Administrator you will need to obtain the following qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/elexon-beta.elexonhostings.co.uk\/bsc\/reference\/market-entry\/cva-qualification\/\">CVA Qualification<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The CVA Qualification is needed to prove that IAs and IEAs have the ability to send certain Communications to BSC Agents and ensure that certain communications are received.&#xA0;<\/p>\n<h3>Waiver testing<\/h3>\n<p>You can waiver testing if you were to reach an agreement with an existing BSC party to use their already Qualified system. You can only apply for the waiver if the Supporting Participant you intend to use is Qualified in the same role as the Qualifying participant, as stated in BSCP70.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"panel-title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/elexon-beta.elexonhostings.co.uk\/bsc\/csd\/bscp70-cva-qualification-testing-for-parties-and-party-agents\/\">BSCP70: CVA Qualification Testing for Parties and Party Agents<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u><\/u>We would require a signed letter from the system owner and then you would be able to waiver testing on basis that the system was already tested when they went through Market Entry.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"costs\">Costs<\/h2>\n<p>Interconnector Administrators or Interconnector Error Administrators acceding to the BSC must pay a &#xA3;500 accession fee which covers the administrative costs of entering the market.<\/p>\n<p>Once acceded, a flat monthly fee of &#xA3;250 + VAT applies. This is known as a base monthly charge.&#xA0;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"how-to-become-an-interconnector-administrator-or-interconnector-error-administrator\">How to become an Interconnector Administrator or Interconnector Error Administrator<\/h2>\n<p>You will need to go through various steps in order to register as a Interconnector Administrator or Interconnector Error Administrator.
