The Transmission Licence defines this as:<\/p>\n<p>The objectives referred to in paragraph 1(b) are:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">\n<li>the efficient discharge by the licensee of obligations imposed upon it by this licence<\/li>\n<li>the efficient, economic and co-ordinated operation of the national electricity transmission system<\/li>\n<li>promoting effective competition in the generation and supply of electricity, and (so far as consistent therewith) promoting such competition in the sale and purchase of electricity<\/li>\n<li>promoting efficiency in the implementation and administration of the balancing and settlement arrangements described in paragraph 2<\/li>\n<li>compliance with the Electricity Regulation and any relevant legally binding decision of the European Commission and\/or the Agency<\/li>\n<li>implementing and administering the arrangements for the operation of contracts for difference and arrangements that facilitate the operation of a capacity market pursuant to EMR legislation<\/li>\n<li>compliance with the Transmission Losses Principle<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\t<\/div>","s3_url":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/elexon-beta.elexonhostings.co.uk\/bsc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/glossary\/2235","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/elexon-beta.elexonhostings.co.uk\/bsc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/glossary"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/elexon-beta.elexonhostings.co.uk\/bsc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/glossary"}],"version-history":[{"count":4,"href":"https:\/\/elexon-beta.elexonhostings.co.uk\/bsc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/glossary\/2235\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":182747,"href":"https:\/\/elexon-beta.elexonhostings.co.uk\/bsc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/glossary\/2235\/revisions\/182747"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/elexon-beta.elexonhostings.co.uk\/bsc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2235"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elexon-beta.elexonhostings.co.uk\/bsc\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=2235"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
