SUMMARY:P272 BSC Industry day
DESCRIPTION:Due to a high volume of attendees\, registration for this event has now closed. If you would like to be added to a waiting list\, please email events@elexon.co.uk and we will contact you if a space becomes available. \nElexon is hosting a day to explain the latest updates on P272 (and related Modification P322). P272 introduces Half Hourly (HH) Settlement for Profile Classes (PC) 5-8 from 1 April 2017.  P322 requires all Suppliers to plan the migration of their PC 5-8 across the period from November 2015 to April 2017\, and submit these plans to the Performance Assurance Board (PAB) and provide monthly updates. \nWho is it aimed at? \nWe invite all interested Parties to attend – particularly Suppliers\, Supplier Agents\, Distribution businesses and all those who need to know more about what is required for the P272 migration. We are still working out some of the detail for the day\, but below is a list of the topics we plan to cover: \n\nSupplier Migration Plans: A walkthrough of the template plans\, including help on what information Suppliers need to include in each section\, what to consider when completing your plan and how Supplier Agents can provide the correct information to their Suppliers. Also\, a similar look at the monthly updates Suppliers will be required to send in to the Performance Assurance Board (PAB) each month.\n\n\nChange of Measurement Class (CoMC): We will facilitate an open forum on the CoMC process where you will have an opportunity to ask questions.\n\n\nMetering: Elexon’s metering experts will advise you on metering considerations related to P272\, and again you will be able to ask any questions you might have.\n\n\nFrequently Asked Questions update: Elexon’s P272 Implementation Team will take you through the latest FAQs\, to provide additional detail or add any new questions to the list.\n\n\nCoMC exception handling workshop: An opportunity to speak to different companies and contacts about handling any issues in the CoMC process during the migration\, and to provide stronger links in preparation for the P272 migration.\n\n\nMaximum Import Capacity (MIC) issue breakout group: An opportunity for Suppliers and Distribution Systems Operators (DSOs) to discuss the information each needs from the other to facilitate discussions with customers.\n\nKeep an eye out in our weekly e-newsletter\, Newscast\, where we will confirm details of the agenda over the coming weeks. \nIf you would like to attend\, please fill in the online registration form below by Monday 20 July 2015.  \nYou can find more information on P272 here\, but if you have any questions\, or need any more information on this event\, please email events@elexon.co.uk.

SUMMARY:'Introducing Elexon' seminar
DESCRIPTION:Due to a high volume of attendees\, registration for this event has now closed\, but if you would like to be put on a waiting list\, please email us at events@elexon.co.uk and we we will let you know if we receive any cancellations. \nOur next seminar is on Wednesday 29 April 2015 which you can register for here. \nTaking place on Wednesday 18 February at Elexon’s offices\, the seminar will be useful to you if you are a newcomer to the industry\, have recently entered the market\, or are in the process of doing so\, or have changed roles within the energy sector. The seminar provides a useful overview of the balancing mechanism and imbalance settlement processes and how the different industry bodies interact with them. To give you a complete view of the industry\, we combine presentations from Elexon with perspectives from across the industry. \n\nTopics we cover on the day: \n\nElexon and the BSC – the basics\nImbalance Settlement\nImbalance Prices\nSupplier Volume Allocation\nElectricity Market Reform (EMR)\nSmart Metering\nNational Grid’s role as National Electricity Transmission System Operator (NETSO)\nOfgem’s vision for a smarter energy market\nSupplier’s perspective  of the electricity market\n\nWe have received some really positive feedback from previous seminars: \n“I found the knowledge of the speakers really came through in their enthusiasm and discussions during their presentations. They were all extremely engaging and were able to discuss their individual topics by bringing them to life with real time examples.” \n“The Elexon presentations outlining Elexon’s role and the function of the BSC were extremely helpful. Having it explained in person really cemented my understanding.” \n“It was an excellent seminar\, the experts clearly were experts in their fields and keen to share their knowledge.” \nDue to the increasing popularity of our seminars\, we can only accommodate a maximum of five attendees per company to allow as many people from across the industry to attend as possible. We often receive a high volume of registrations from the Big Six\, so if you are from a large company\, we would be happy to arrange a tailored session for you and your colleagues. \nIf you would like to discuss training options or to arrange a tailored session\, please email communications@elexon.co.uk and we will give you a call back. \nWe also offer other training sessions. Click here to view our training programme. \nFees\nWe charge certain organisations for our training services. The cost to delegates from other organisations (such as consultancies\, information providers\, law firms\, local authorities and academic institutions) is £270 (including VAT) per delegate. \nFor more information on our charging policy and how to pay please email events@elexon.co.uk.

SUMMARY:Technical Assurance of Metering (TAM) education day
DESCRIPTION:The Technical Assurance of Metering Systems is designed to detect and correct errors in the setup of half-hourly (HH) Metering Systems. The Technical Assurance Agent (TAA) does this as a BSC Agent\, appointed by Elexon\, to deliver inspections of a Metering System on a sample of the Metering System population. \nLast September\, we held an education day\, following a full service review of the Technical Assurance of Metering Systems\, carried out by Elexon\, in collaboration with Technical Assurance of the Metering Expert Group and the TAA. We hosted the event\, with input from the then new Technical Assurance Agent\, C&C Group\, who currently provide the TAA services. \nIn the 2013/14 audit year\, the TAA identified four significant market issues which caused the majority of non-compliances in the market: \n\nCommissioning and Commissioning Records\nMeter programming errors (Current Transformer (CT)/Voltage Transformer (VT) ratios)\nUnresolved Category 2 non-compliances\nMeasurement Transformer Certificates and overall accuracy\n\nA number of recommendations were made to address these issues\, including Modification P283: Reinforcing the Commissioning of Metering equipment processes which will be implemented on Thursday 6 November 2014\, and will introduce changes to the BSC and Metering Code of Practice (CoP) 4 intended to strengthen Metering Equipment commissioning processes. \nWhat does this mean for you?\nFollowing the success of the last education day\, in collaboration with the TAA\, we are offering another event this year to provide a refresher for those who attended the last one\, and an introduction to the Technical Assurance of Metering technique and the Technical Assurance of Metering Systems for those new to the process. \nWe will provide further information on the significant market issues and recommendations for addressing them\, along with a debrief of individual performance following the annual reports which were sent to Parties following the 2013/14 audit year. \nThis event will help support customers in understanding the service and the system\, but will also benefit anyone new to the Technical Assurance of Metering who may want to better understand the technique and what responsibilities they have. \nThe day will cover: \n\nThe TAM process and how it fits in to the Performance Assurance Framework\nAn overview of P283\nHow to make better use of the information in the Technical Assurance Agent Management Tool ( TAAMT)\nManaging non-compliances\nReporting\n\nIf you would like to attend\, please fill in the online registration form below by Tuesday 28 October 2014. \nIf you have any questions\, or need more information on this event\, please email events@elexon.co.uk.

SUMMARY:P283 education day
DESCRIPTION:Are you ready for P283? Here is your chance to better understand the new commissioning arrangements. \nBackground\nBSC Modification P283: Reinforcing the Commissioning of Metering Equipment processes will be implemented on Thursday 6 November 2014\, and will introduce changes to the BSC and Metering Code of Practice (CoP) 4 intended to strengthen Metering Equipment commissioning processes. \nCurrently\, the Meter Operator Agent (MOA) performs all commissioning and calibration requirements as set out in CoP4 on behalf of the Registrant. However\, Registrants and Meter Operator Agents are often not well placed to complete Metering Equipment commissioning. P283 will shift commissioning obligations onto the Transmission Company and Licenced Distribution System Operators (LDSOs)\, where they own the current and voltage transformers (CTs and VTs) and places requirements on the Meter Operator Agent and Registrant to communicate and escalate any gaps in the commissioning of their Metering Equipment. Where another party owns the CTs and/or VTs then the MOA remains responsible for commissioning and calibrating all of the Metering Equipment as now. \nWho will benefit?\nThis event will be useful for anyone with an interest or an obligation to ensure that Meters are working properly. \nFrom 6 November 2014 LDSOs and the Transmission Company will begin commissioning of CTs and/or VTs\, and will send reports to the MOA for review. Suppliers and Registrants will begin to receive reports from the MOA informing them of the outcome of the commissioning process (good or bad). \nWhat does this mean for you?\nThis change affects Generators\, LDSOs\, Suppliers\, The Transmission Company and Meter Operator Agents (Central Volume Allocation and Supplier Volume Allocation). \nThis education day will cover processes that may be followed to ensure compliance with the BSC and with CoP4 following implementation of P283. This event will support BSC Parties and their Agents in understanding the changes and their responsibilities. \nThe day will cover: \n\nBackground to P283 and why it became necessary\nChanges to the BSC sand CoP4 and what it means for you\nAdvice on post P283 implementation checks by Elexon\nManaging non-compliances\nDiscussions and debate on potential future enhancements to the commissioning process\nQuestion and answer session with experts at Elexon\n\nIf you would like to attend\, please fill in the online registration form below. \nIf you have any questions\, or need more information on this event\, please email events@elexon.co.uk.
