Glossary Term: Balancing Services Adjustment Data

Acronym: BSAD

Balancing Service Adjustment Data is used in the calculation of Energy Imbalance Prices, i.e. the System Buy Price and the System Sell Price as specified in Section T, Paragraphs 4.4.5 and 4.4.6 of the BSC.

means the data to be sent by the Transmission Company to the Settlement Administration Agent (SAA) and the Balancing Mechanism Reporting Agent (BMRA) pursuant to Section Q6.3.

What is the BMRA?

The Balancing Mechanism Reporting Agent (BMRA) collects and publishes information about the electricity system in Great Britain. Balancing Mechanism and System Related Information is sourced from the System Operator (National Grid), and Registration Information from the Central Registration Agent.

What is the SAA?

The Settlement Administration Agent (SAA) performs daily Settlement Runs and produces balancing mechanism and Settlement Reports to BSC Parties, the Funds Administration Agent (FAA) and Elexon. These reports detail monies owed and owing as a result of balancing mechanism actions and settlement of imbalances. The SAA calculates the charges in £’s from MWh data.
