Industry Standing Data (ISD)

Glossary

Industry Standing Data (ISD) is a centralised, common set of reference information used by all electricity market participants, a directory that ensures all energy suppliers, network operators, and third-party service providers are using the same foundational data to interpret information related to each metering system.

What is Industry Standing Data?

Industry Standing Data (ISD) is an enhanced version of our Market Domain Data and Line Loss Factor services, but with fewer manual processes to maintain it. This will save both time and resources for BSC Parties and Elexon colleagues.

Industry Standing Data (ISD) is being introduced as part of the Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement (MHHS) Programme and will replace Market Domain Data.

ISD Release Schedule

The ISD Release Schedule shows the Change Request submission deadlines, Publish date and Go-Live date for each Version of Industry Standing Data.

During the MHHS Transition Period, an additional ISD catalogue will be published each month containing changes relating only to newly qualified MHHS participants.

ISD Circulars

We issue two types of Circulars as part of the ISD Release process:

Impact Assessment Circulars

These inform you of the proposed general changes to be included in the next Version of ISD. You are expected to carry out an impact assessment on these changes.

Please note: An Impact Assessment Circular is not issued when the release is limited to publishing an ISD catalogue to include newly qualified MHHS participants only.

Final Circulars

These confirm the approved changes being made to the next Version of ISD. Once issued, changes cannot be excluded from that Version.

How to get ISD data

Industry Standing Data is available on the Elexon Portal.

  • Elexon Portal > Operational Data > ISD

Receiving ISD files

When a new version of the ISD catalogue is published, participants will receive a notification from the Data Integration Platform (DIP) via an IF-047 message.

Changing data in ISD

Market Participants may submit requests to include or amend ISD data, but only for information relating to their own Market Participant ID (MPID).

How to submit

To submit a Change Request, you will need to access the Kinnect Customer Portal as an authorised signatory

If you are not eligible for Kinnect Customer Portal access, requests must be completed using the relevant BSCP707 Entity Forms, accompanied by a BSCP707/01 Cover Form.
Please submit your forms via Elexon Support

When to submit

Forms must reach us by the submission deadline for the ISD Version in which you want the changes to appear.

Please refer to the ISD Release Schedule for the full list of deadlines.
